January 24, 2013
Hamilton High School

The Hamilton Big Blue posted an impressive win Tuesday night over Wayne HS (Huber Heights), winning by a 51-25 margin. Hamilton used an aggressive zone to stymie the Wayne offense, and notched a team-high 19 steals. Hamilton held Wayne to 20.5% shooting from the field and just 23% from the 3-point line.

Hamilton was led by senior guard Jillian Spurlock with a game-high 26 points and game-high 12 rebounds. The first of her many baskets of the night gave Spurlock the outright All-time girls' basketball leading scoring leader spot. Jillian now has 1036 points in her career at the Big Blue and will keep adding to her record in the remaining 5 regular season games.

The Big Blue also got a great effort from freshman point guard, Takyra Gilbert, who tallied 7 steals, 3 assists, and 8 points in the win. Freshman guard Savannah Conrad added 9 points and posted 6 rebounds. Other performances of interest include Ja'Monique Moore with 7 points and 7 rebounds, and Emma Goins with 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

Hamilton returns in action this Saturday, hosting #3 Mason at 2 p.m.
