Tough loss to Ross

In Wednesday night's home opener, the Ross Lady Rams showed grit and heart as they edged Hamilton 30-27 on their home court. Ross used a tenacious 2-3 zone to hold the Big Blue to just 22% from the field and 10% from the 3-point line. Down just 1 point at half, Hamilton was out of sorts in the 3rd quarter and was outscored 10-2. Even with a 4th quarter rally, the Big Blue could not overcome the 12 point deficit and lost it's 1st home game of the year.

Hamilton was led by Jillian Spurlock with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Freshman Takyra Gilbert chipped in 7 points in the effort.

The Big Blue heads to Mason this Saturday in a JV/Varsity double header. The JV game starts at 12:30 p.m., with the varsity following at 2 p.m.
