Home » Softball NewsSoftball team works towards a winSeptember 17, 2012 Douglass High School"Safe!" is the expression yelled across the field as members of the softball team scatter to reach their next base. In August, members of the Lady Astro softball team were named and games were scheduled for every Tuesday and Thursday. Although the team's current record of 0-10 disappoints them, they still have the motivation and drive to take home a win. When asked how she feels about the season so far player Zariah Lewis answered, "I feel that the season could be much better. We have not won any games, but with dedication and a positive attitude, we could win games and be better overall. We are a good team and work well together, but we just need some extra help with our skills to help us progress as a team." Currently, the girls have been working extremely hard and the coaches believe that they have the potential to win! Coach Rucker (Head Coach), Coach Long and Coach Mike (Assistant Coaches) lead the team in rigorous practice sessions and keep the thought of winning in mind. With all of their hard work and the endless practices, the softball team plans to overcome their recent losses and bring home a victory.
