The team has won seven games back to back. After winning against Central Carroll, it positioned them as number one in the region. “It feels great coming into a new year and new season bouncing back from a few losses over the holiday break. We need to keep working hard because our team has extreme potential to be the state champions,” senior co-captain Ramonte Butler exclaims. On the younger side of the Astros basketball team, the junior varsity squad has been on a winning streak of their own. They have an 8-2 record and they are performing well as a team. Their win versus Banneker High School made them #2 in the JV region. “It feels awesome to be on a winning streak. We have to win these final regular season games before heading to the playoffs so that we can keep our momentum going. If we keep going strong like we are, we’re definitely bringing home a championship trophy,” freshman Michael Paige stated. By Malik Brown
