Play by play there was an intense atmosphere and the team won with a score of 74 to 53 against BEST Academy. “I feel great knowing that my team has found it in them to compete on a higher level against any team. I also feel we are more confident in ourselves and trust each other better,” Varsity basketball player, Demarcus Cunningham stated. By the screeching of Nike shoes, fans could tell that this wasn’t any regular street ball. Not only did the Astros demonstrate their skills on the court their hard work was evident. Demarcus Cunningham and Ramonte Butler couldn’t keep their feet off the court. Cunningham had an amazing 8 rebounds, 17 points and 2 steals while Butler had 10 rebounds, 15 shots and 4 steals. "Expect major surprises from the boy’s basketball tyear this year because this game kept me on the edge of my seat,” senior Teyuana Daniels said.
