Teachers, staff and administrators gathered this morning to celebrate teacher of the year, Mrs. Antionette Hood. Breakfast was served and pictures were taken as the staff took the time to pay homage to Hood, who has taught Social Studies at FDHS for nearly 14 years.

“It was great to have such support from Dr. Horton, the administration and all of my colleagues. Their efforts went a long way to make me feel special. In addition to the honor of being selected as Teacher of the Year, the breakfast this morning made me feel sincerely appreciated,” Hood said.

This Saturday Hood will participate in the Atlanta Public Schools Teacher of the Year banquet where friends and family members will be publicly honored and celebrated for their outstanding accomplishments in the classroom.

“I would like to say thank you to everyone who voted for me and to Dr. Horton for organizing such a wonderful event this morning,” Hood said.
