Nightshade is big hit for Cremer
October 22, 2012Douglass High School
“Nightshade” by Andrea Cremer has readers howling with the tale of witches and wolves. You’ll definitely want to take a bite out of this as you follow the addictive story through the thoughts and tribulations of the rule breaking, risk taking, main character Calla Tor.
This book is sexy, not just regular sexy, Johnny Depp sexy. The story follows Calla Tor, the alpha of her pack of werewolves, referred to as “Guardians” throughout the story. Their job and right is to follow, serve and protect the Keeper’s against there enemies the Searchers. Both Keepers and Searchers alike are witches and warlocks that have been in war with one another for years. Yet, when she saves a mysterious boy that enters her realm, carrying unknown connections, that’s when the previously thought strong twining in the relationship between the Keepers and Guardians unwinds to show the shadowed threads within. The question of truth behind the secrets keeps you turning the pages, but also the forbidden love and tempting lust between the characters.
The story was riveting as the questions piled and tugged your curiosity fiercely through out the book. Also, as the relationships expanded between the characters, from forbidden love, to uncontrolled desire, to a destined strain the story became more addictive and the trials proved a meaningful insight into the characters true selves.
This book is a definite dig it! The story is a great start to a series that will have you howling at the moon in excitement and pawing for more. Get entwined in the pack and read Nightshade!
