IMPORTANT FOR ALL MEMBERS AND COACHES TO ATTEND PLANS WILL BE MADE FOR THE FIREWORK STANDS *** GLASGOW TRACK TEAMS ARE GOING TO STATE!!!! Saturday, May 12th, Glasgow boys and girls track teams competed in State Sectionals at Marshall, MO. The boys placed fifth out of twenty teams and the girls took third place. The following athletes will compete in State Track on Friday and Saturday, May 18 -19, at Lincoln University Track in Jefferson City, MO. Landon Brand, Anthony Weydert, Peyton Davis, and Alyson Fuemmeler will compete in the pole vault. Landon vaulted at a height of 11’ and took first place Saturday, while Anthony took third. Alyson Fuemmeler won the girls pole vault at a height of 7’6” and Peyton took fourth. Nikki Fuemmeler qualified in the hurdles, taking fourth place. Carley Brucks took second in the 800m run. Blake Hackman took fourth in the triple jump. Reid Littrell took fourth in the shot put to qualify for state. The girls 1600m relay team consisting of Alex Davis, Erin Reynolds, Carley Brucks and Nikki Fuemmeler took first place. Abby Thompson and Lindsey Kopp will also be alternates in the relay. The boys 800m relay team of Alex Mathews, Austin Speiser, Jay Thompson, and Blake Hackman took third to qualify for state. Clay Littrell and Landon Brand are the alternates for the relay. The boys 1600m relay team of Jay Thompson, Blake Hackman, a Landon Brand, and Austin Speiser took third to qualify for state. Kyler Monnig and Tyler Barnhill will be the alternates for the 1600m relay. All of the Glasgow athletes have worked hard this year in track. The school and community are very proud of you!
GLASGOW RELAY HELD APRIL 27 Glasgow Relays were held at the Glasgow Community Track on April 27th. There were 12 teams attending the windy relays. The pole vault was canceled because of weather conditions at the meet. Glasgow boys placed second behind Santa Fe, and the girls took fourth place. In the girls division, Alex Davis and Erin Reynolds placed second and third respectively in the 400m dash. Carley Brucks took second in the 800m run. Courtney Neville came in seventh in the mile run followed by Hannah Smith. Hannah also finished eighth in the 3200m run. In the 100m hurdles, Nikki Fuemmeler took the gold medal. The 800m relay team took the bronze medal. The 4x400m relay came in second place. In girls high jump, Carley Brucks came in second place. She also took second In the long jump, and Alex Davis took third. Lexie Uthlaut came in seventh with her best throw in the discus. Alex Mathews took fourth in the 100m dash in the boys division. Austin Speiser and Tyler Barnhill came in third and fourth in the 200m dash. In the 110m hurdles, Clay Littrell took fourth place. Blake Hackman took second in the 400m dash. Freshman, Kyler Monnig took the gold medal in the 800m run and Brody Hosmer took fourth place. Another gold medal was taken by Ethan Thompson in the mile run. Ethan ran his best time In the 300m hurdles taking fourth place. The boys 4x20, 4x100, 4x800 and 4x400 relay teams took second. In the field events, Tyler Barnhill took third place in the high jump, and seventh in the long jump. Blake Hackman took fourth in the triple jump. Reid Littrell took third in shot and fourth in discus. BROOKFIELD RELAYS Glasgow High Track teams competed in the Brookfield Relays on Friday, April 20th in Brookfield, MO. The Yellowjackets came home with the first place plaque and the Lady Jackets, with many athletes not present because of State FFA, took fourth in the relays. Glasgow Tracksters in Northwestern Relays On Monday, April 23rd, the Glasgow Yellowjackets attended the Northwestern Relays in Mendon, MO. Glasgow teams came home with two first places plaques, boys and girls. Thirteen teams participated in the annual relays. ALL-DISTRICT SCHOLAR BOWL Congratulations to Joseph Morris, winner of an All-District Medal at the District 7, Class 1 Scholar Bowl Tournament held at Prairie Home High School on April 14. Joseph was the 4th highest scorer at the district tournament and was named to the All-District Team. Joseph served as captain of the Glasgow Scholar Bowl Team this year. CAC VARSITY AND JR. HIGH TRACK MEET Glasgow varsity and jr. high track teams participated in the CAC Conference Track meet on April 18th at Glasgow Community Track. The Varsity teams boys finished first by 98 points and the Varsity girls took second behind New Franklin by 15 points. The jr. high boys finished third and the girls fourth in their divisions. All athletes did a terrific job representing their school. Glasgow Track Articles Westran Meet on 3/26/2012 Glasgow High School Track teams traveled to Westran for a nine team meet on 3/26/2012. The boys took second and the girls came in fourth place. This was the first meet and practice on any track because of weather. Many athletes had not had a chance to practice any field events because of the weather conditions. In pole vault, Landon Brand came in second place, while Anthony Weydert placed third. In the girls division, Peyton Davis placed second and Aly Fuemmeler placed fourth. Reid Littrell placed second in the discus and Nikki Fuemmeler and Lexie Uthlaut placed fourth and sixth place. Carley Brucks placed second in high jump. Carley also placed second in long jump. In triple jump, Blake Hackman placed first and Austin Speiser came in third. 1600m relay, boys placed second and girls placed fourth. Nikki Fummeler placed third in the 100m hurdles and Clay Littrell placed fourth in the 110’s. Alex Mathews placed fourth in the 100m dash. Both teams placed fourth in the 800m relay, the boys also placed fourth in the 400m relay. Alex Davis placed fifth in the 400m dash, Blake Hackman placed second. In the 300m hurdles, Lindsey Kopp and Nikki Fuemmeler placed fourth and fifth. Ethan Thompson placed second in the 300’s. 1600 run, Ethan Thompson won first and Kyler Monnig took fifth. Kyler placed third in the 800m run. Erin Reynolds won second in the 800m run. In the 200m dash, Austin Speiser placed second. 1600m relay, boys won first and the girls took third.
Fayette Relays 3/30/2012 Glasgow boys took second and the girls came in fourth at the Fayette Relays. Thirteen teams participated in the relays, many schools were class 2 and 3. Glasgow Tracksters participated in the Cairo Relays on 4/3/2012. Ten teams were invited to the relays. Glasgow boys took first place scoring fifty plus points from the second place team. The girl tracksters took fourth place, five points separated the second thru fourth place team. A list of medalists follows: Shot Put –Reid Littrell placed second, Nikki Fummeler placed fifth. Discus – Reid Littrell took first, Clay Littrell took fifth, Nikki Fuemmeler took second. Long Jump – Carley Brucks took second, Erin Reynolds took sixth. Glasgow Yellowjacket Track teams participated in the Brunswick Relays on April 12, 2012 in Brunswick, MO. The Jackets continued their winning streak taking first place with 157 points, 96 points ahead of the second place team. The Ladyjackets took second place behind Sturgeon with 92 points. They were missing five ladies because of the CAC Speech Contest. Following is a list of medalists: Carley Brucks won first place the high jump. Alex Davis won the long jump, took second in the triple jump, and third in the 100m dash. Nikki Fuemmeler won first in the 100 hurdles, fourth in the discus. Erin Reynolds took first place in the 800m run. The 1600m relay team of Erin Reynolds, Nikki Fuemmeler, Alyson Fummeler, and Lindsey Kopp took the gold medal. Alex Davis, Erin Reynolds, Carley Brucks, and Alyson Fuemmeler took second in the 3200m relay. Reid Littrell took first in the discus with a throw of 118’; in shot he took home the second place medal. Blake Hackman took first in the 400m dash and triple jump. Alex Mathews took second and the 100m dash and third in the 200. Austin Speiser won the 200m dash. Austin took third in the triple jump. Ethan Thompson won the mile and took second in the 300m hurdles. Landon Brand took third in the 400m dash. Clay Littrell took second in the 110 hurdles. The boys dominated the relays at the meet. The 3200m Relay consisting of Brody Hosmer, Ethan Thompson, Landon Brand, and Kyler Monnig took first place. The 1600m relay of Ethan Thompson, Landon Brand, Blake Hackman, and Austin Speiser took the gold medal. The 800m relay of Blake Hackman, Alex Mathews, Landon Brand, and Austin Speiser took first. In the 400m relay, Tyler Barnhill, Anthony Weydert, Clay Littrell, and Alex Mathews took second. This was an excellent meet for the Yellowjacket teams to prepare for the CAC Conference on Wednesday, April 18th in Glasgow.
Brunswick Jr. High Relays You might say the Glasgow Jr. High team is small but mighty. The Jackets did extremely well in the Brunswick Jr. High Relays on Thursday, April 12th. The boys and girls team consist of 4 boys and 4 girls. In the girls division, Anne Reynolds won the 800m run with at time of 3:02. The 800m relay team of Kaitlyn Noll, Rose Wellborn, Chandler Beeler, and Anne Reynolds took second place. In the boys division, Hayden brought home four medals and the high point medal. He took first in the 100m hurdles, 800m run, and 1600m run. In triple jump, Hayden took second place. He scored 38 points, winning the high point medal. This was the young tracksters first meet and they did a great job representing Glasgow Schools and community. ***
