First Match @ Salisbury for 2014
September 2, 2014By Rose Wellborn of Glasgow Schools
On August 25, 2014 the Glasgow Girls’ Golf Team traveled to Salisbury Golf Course for their first match! The other schools that attended were Cairo and Westran. Due to unbelievable heat conditions, the girls actually only played 7 holes. Hole 3 and 4 were the hottest to play, with there being trees all around, blocking any chance of a breeze, and also being right out in the sun. Coach Wyatt of Salisbury, gave everyone a bogey on those holes to even out the scores. The four teams were very close on their final scores, but unfortunately our girls came in last with a 242. Westran was the winning team with 226. Shanna Surber of Westran was the Match Medalist, shooting a 51. Rose Wellborn was the low scorer for Glasgow, shooting a 56. Followed by Isobel Haskamp and Shelby Fuemmeler, who both shot a 61, and ending with Reagan Fuemmeler, who shot a 64. Upcoming matches are Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Moberly, Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Paris for the Paris Tournament, and Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Westran.
