By Nic Scandrett of Gilbert High SchoolThe Gilbert School District is starting the initiative to raise money for the renovation of the Gilbert baseball and softball fields. They will be hosting the Chili Dipper Golf Open (sponsored by Ames Silversmithing) on Sunday, October 10 at the Veenker Memorial Golf Course in Ames. The 4-man best ball outing will cost $75 per person, which includes chili and a cart. All proceeds will to to the renovation of the Gilbert baseball and softball fields.
