Tigers Win South Central Calhoun Tournament

The Gilbert Tiger varsity volleyball team improved their record to 7-3 after battling the South Central Calhoun Titans for the trophy Saturday, September 4.  The Tigers defeated Sioux Central, Pocahontas Area, and Manson-Northwest Webster earlier in the day to take first place in pool play.  They received a first round bye in bracket play before defeating Sioux Central again.  The first game in the championship match was controlled by the quick offensive hitting by the Tigers.  Game two was close and hard fought, but won by the Titans.  However, Gilbert stayed focused and in control of game three, winning 15-11 for the title.  Congratulations to the Tigers!
