9/7/2012 Adairsville vs. Armuchee

It was not a good 1st quarter for either team as Armuchee had two fumbles and Adairsville had one fumble and one touchdown taken away due too a chop block penalty with 1:32 to go in the 1st quarter . The first quarter ended with a score of 0-0.

The 2nd quarter started off with Armuchee with the ball on their own 27 yard line. Adairsville’s defense easily stopped Armuchee and forced them to punt the ball from close to the original line of scrimmage. Adairsville put 7 on the board after a touch down by the QB Marcus Childers and good PAT by Dakota Hines with 10:23 to go in the 2nd quarter. The Tigers dominated the Indians the rest of the game.  With 7:30 to go in the 2nd quarter after an interception by Hiram Velez Marcus Childers called his own number again with a 21 yard touchdown.  With 6:06 to go in the 2nd quarter Childers connect with Austin Harris for a 37 yard touchdown to put the Tiger up 21-0 over the Indians.  Again with 2:43 Tristin Smith rushed 7 yards for a touch down with Hines PAT good.  That put the Tigers up 28-0 going into halftime.

The Tigers fumbled the ball on the Armuchee 2 yard line with 6:49 to go in the 3rd quarter which was the 3rd turnover in the game for the Tigers. With 1:22 to go in the 3rd quarter Childers connected with Velez for an approx 40 yard touchdown.  The rest of the 3rd quarter was pretty much a clock eating monster for the Tigers as both teams started subbing in players.

Going into the 4th quarter the Tigers had an easy lead 35-0 with a running clock. With 11:30 to go the Tigers freshman Sidnee Johnson got the call with a hand off from Collin Bearden to take the ball 14 yards for a touchdown. The PAT by Hines was good. Not much more action went on in the 4th quarter except for Sidnee Johnsons hand off from Torrey Hale. Johnson carried the ball 45 yards for the last touchdown of the game.

The Tigers are now 1-1 with a tough loss to Cass last week. They will play the 0-2 Pepperell Dragons next week. Pepperell was one of the only two teams to beat Adairsville last year.

The Indians are now 0-2 with a loss to Trion last week. The Indians will face Gordon Lee next week.  The last time the two teams played each other was in 2003 with Gordon Lee winning that game.
