The Lady Railroaders picked up a nice conference win on Friday night against the Adams Central Lady Jets 63-17. We were in control from the early stages of the game. Everyone played well and all 11 players got minutes. Our defense was a very bright spot for the evening. We our improving our man defense and that will be huge as we continue through the year. We were able to get back to our press and we did a nice job containing the basketball and getting some steals. Taylor Smith led the for us by scoring 18 points and grabbing 6 rebounds. Brandi Dawson and Emily Somers each scored 13 points. Brandi had 11 rebounds and Emily had 3 assists and 3 steals. Katie Wisel had another great all around game scoring 8 points, passing for 6 assists, and grabbing 4 rebounds. Rachel Stafford had 4 points, Becca Oliver 3, Emma Riedley 2, and Rachel DePew 2. Brit Yarian had a good game with 2 assists, 2 rebounds, and played great defense. Bailey Sutton and Lyndsey Gibson also played well in their minutes.
We reach the halfway point of our schedule on Tuesday night, at home, against a 6-1 Fremont team. This will be another good defensive test for us. We hope to see everyone in the Bateman Gym.
