Home » Girls' Basketball NewsClose againNovember 26, 2012 By Bob Lapadot of Garrett High SchoolThe Lady Railroaders battled to the final buzzer for the second game in a row against Class 3A #6 Angola on Tuesday night. Angola, down 2, hit a 3 pointer with 13 seconds left. After a timeout, the Lady Railroaders got a great shot to win the game that came up just short. Angola won 47-46. The girls played a great game and executed the game plan masterfully for 32 min. Everyone who got in the game contributed and it was a great basketball game for fans to watch. Brandi Dawson led the way with 20 points and 17 rebounds. Taylor Smith had 9 points and 8 rebounds. Katie Wisel had 7 points and 3 assists. Emily Somer had 5 points and Becca Oliver 3, adn Emma Riedley 2 to round out the scoring. Becca Oliver and Emily Somers did an awesome job of chasing and shuting down Angols's two leading scorers. One of which is a D1 recruit to IPFW. The rest of the team gave great help all night and rebounded very well. Our focus is on finding a way to finish these close games. We are making great strides as a team and the future is bright!
