Team win

November 15, 2012
By Bob Lapadot of Garrett High School

Our team came together last night and grew up a lot in our 61-29 victory over Central Noble.  Freshman Taylor Smith dominated the inside scoring 15 points and playing great defense against CN's 6' center.  Katie Wisel was able to get into the lane all night long and set up easy baskets for us.  She also scored 13 points to go along with her 5 assists.  Brandi Dawson had another dominate night scoring 20 points and grabbing 19 bebounds to go along with 4 assists and 2 steals.  Emily Somers had a strong defensive effort after overcoming some early foul trouble.  Em had 5 steals to go along with her 7 points.  Also scoring for us was Becca Oliver 4 and 4 steals and Rachel DePew got her frst varsity points scoring 2. Rachel Stafford played a strong game inside for us and really battled on the boards.  Emma Riedley also played well in her limited minutes due to foul trouble.  Alaina Creager was playing her best game of the year when she hurt her knee.  So far tests have been good and we are all hoping for the best.  We need all 12 of our players in order to be the best team possible and we can't wait to get Alaina back.

Our JV team got their first win of the year last night and played very well.  They are young and imopriving each day.  It will be fun to watch them grow and get better as the year goes on.  The best thing about this group is that they play hard and want to get better!

Friday we host DeKalb in a county showdown.
