Home » Football NewsEagles SOAR to 2nd Round!October 22, 2011 By Nick Maksimchuk of Fremont High SchoolThe Fremont Eagles defeated Central Noble by a score of 62-26 on Friday night. The Eagles hosted the cougars for the 1st round of the IHSAA Sectionals. It was a big night for the runningbacks as the Offensive Line stepped up to open big holes. Brock Baker, Trevor Wirick, Nate Beatty, Ricky Short, and Chandler McDowell all had rushing Touchdowns. Mitch VanZuilen also ran in multiple 2 point conversion attempts. Trevor Wirick rushed for over 200 yards and 3 scores. Brock Baker also rushed for over 100 yards. Ricky Short scored on both sides of the ball as he picked off a cougar pass for the first score of the game. Nate Beatty got into the scoring mix by showing off his speed and versatility on a 68 yard touchdown run. The Eagle defense stuffed the cougars most of the night. Chad Workman and Ricky Short each had an Interception for the eagles, while Brady Elliott stripped a cougar player to get the ball back. Logan Peel had a couple of great sacks to help propel the Eagles to the 2nd round. Fremont will travel to Adams Central next Friday night. Kick-off 7:30PM
