Eagles soar at WN Sectional!

After running the NECC XC meet at WN just 10 days earlier, the Eagles came back to WN High School for the IHSAA XC sectional meet!  The Eagle guys had high goals of bringing home a Sectional title to FHS, but had to settle for a nice 2nd place(81pts) showing as Dekalb won with 69 pts..  In all the Eagle put 4 guys in the top 14 as Keigan Culler was Ruuner-up in 16:33, Tyler Herber was 3rd in 16:43, Alex Beams showed great determination in 12th place(17:31), Tanner Wall was 14th in 17:47.  The 5th Eagle was Sam Stukey 54th(20:20), Jeremy Easterday was 56th(20:25) and Ben Stukey rounded the top 7 out in 64th (22:06).  The Eagle guys tied their highest showing at the Sectional as they were 2nd at last years sectional behind West Noble!  It is also only the second team to move to the regional, matching last years accomplishment!  Congratulations EAGLES!!!!

The Fremont Lady Eagles also had a wonderful night at WN to advance to the Regional and run to a 3rd place finish(91pts).  This is also the highest finish for a Lady Eagles XC team, the 2000 & 2008 teams were both 5th place.  Leading the way for the Lady Eagles was Abby Hostetler, as she also became the 1st Lady Eagle to win a Individual Sectional title at 19:21.  Two other lady Eagles joined Abby in the top 7, Anna Aldrich put together a nice run to place 3rd in 19:49 and BIG Mak(Makenna Cade) was 7th with a another great showing in 20:37!  We asked for a little, but we got alot from Senior Lorin Reidenbach & Junior Brandi Cessna, Brandi PR'd in 24:04 to get 38th and Lorin ran 44th in a time of 24:36. The Lady Ealges showed some great poise and determination in the last couple of monthes as they have been riddled with lots of aches and pains among the "only" 5 runners on the FHS squad.  Congratulations Lady Eagles, for advancing, giving yourselves, your fans and your school a great memory to last awhile!

Both Eagle XC teams venture back to West Noble High School this Saturday the 15th at 10:30am to race in the IHSAA XC Regional!  This is when the true Eagles start to soar, we hold true to a big part of our philosophy & legacy as FHS runners, wear the Singlet with the big block"F" with pride and respect!  Good luck!!!
