Eagles Win 8th Dual In A Row

September 28, 2011
By Brent Byler of Fremont High School

The Eagle Tennis team traveled to Swinney Park on the south side of Fort Wayne Monday night to compete against host Bishop Luers.  With the rain out of the forecast, the Eagles invaded the courts with all 20 players.  The Varsity worked their way to a 5-0 win as Matt Hoff, Matt Wilcox, Brandon Miller, Jake Bryant/Tyler Jenkins, and Glen McClain/Andrew Smith won in straight sets to improve their record to 10 wins and 3 losses.  Their only losses include Northrop, Fairfield, and a close 3-2 loss to 27th ranked Angola.  This marks the third time in its short 10 year history that the Eagles have reached 10 wins in a season.  The Varsity tennis team travels to DeKalb on Wednesday night to take on the Prairie Heights Panthers in the 1st round of sectional.
