Home » Cross Country News2011 NEW PRAIRIE INVITESeptember 17, 2011 By Moses Castillo of Fremont High SchoolWe woke early to go to the 2011 New Prairie Invitational, and boy did we wake up quick! New Prairie Invitational is the single biggest High school sporting event in Indiana every year. FHS boys walked away from the Prestigous New Prairie Invitational as Class A champs with 126 points to beat Hebron (135) and outpace 37 other schools. The Eagles boys have stepped up there intensity and cmpetitiveness in the last 2 weeks to earn more hardware! Tyler Herber led the Eagles again with a 4th place finish of 16:19 and Keigan Culler was 5th with a 16:26. Alex Beams and Tanner Wall were both 17th & 18th with times of 17:32 and 17:40. Sam Stukey brought his A game at the right time with a huge PR to finish 94th at 19:54! Jeremy Easterday and Devin Smith rounded out our TOP 7 with 123rd place (20:55). Devin Smiths chip did not show in the final reults! Official results for the JV race were not yet posted for Ben Stukey and Spencer Stukey at the time we left. The Lady Eagles also fared well at New Prairie Invite with an 6th place(190pts.) finish! Abby Hostetler ran a wonderful race to outdistance her teammate by 46 sec. at 18:38 for the Individual Class A championship. Anna Aldrich returned to the lineup with a spectacular showing of 19:24 to finish second. MaKenna Cade was 14th (20:57) to earn some hardware for being Top 15. Lorin Reidenbach and Brandi Cessna rounded out our scorers with 86th(24:03) and 111th (25:10). We are getting consistancy and gaining confidence each race, as our training is moving to higher levels and intensity ramps up! Congratulations EAGLES, we are getting better, but we have more work to do! This is but a step in the right direction for the big meets when it counts!
