Eagles hit their way into the sectional championship game.

May 28, 2014
By Ron Smith of Fremont High School

The lady eagle scored 13 runs on 16 hits to beat LaVille 13-7. We will now play Breman in the section championship game on Thursday at 5:00pm at Westview. Going into todays game our goal was to put the ball in play and advance the runners with bunting the ball. We were able to do that. LaVille's pitcher wanted to pitch the ball outside or away from our hitter and instead of trying to pull every pitch the girls was able to hit the outside pitch to the opposite field. This was very effective, we were able advance a lot of runners multiple bases which let to a lot of runs. we were able to go up early in the game then LaVille came back to take a early lead. Laville went up 3-1 then we came back to take the lead 9-3. LaVille then had a big inning and scored 4 runs to get back in the game. At this point the score was 9-7. Our bats stayed hot and we put up another 4 runs to make it a 13-7 ball game. Both teams went scorless to finish the 6th and 7th innings. Ryleigh Weidenhamer pitched all 7 innings. She started of a little slow which I think she was nervous but she battlled the whole game was able to shut LaVille down for the win.  Congrates and GO EAGLES.
