Fremont Beats Garrett in Finale

May 23, 2014
By Justin Bock of Fremont High School

Fremont 6, Garrett 3

Seniors led in all aspects of the game in their final regular season contest. Brock Baker (three innings, three hits, two runs) and Kaleb Hayes (four innings, two hits, one run) pitched very effectively. Brock also had two hits and three RBIs at the plate, including a double off of the left field fence. Ryan Sichling also had a big two-run double, his off of the right field fence. Nate Beatty made an impressive diving catch in the seventh that kept the game from becoming uncomfortable.

Alex Beams, Hunter Jordan, and Bryce Thomas made many routine and some harder-than-routine plays, flashing the kind of infield defense we will continue to need to mae a run through sectional.

Speaking of sectionals, we begin Thursday. Wednesday's games feature Prairie Heights vs. Central Noble and Bremen vs. Laville. The winners of those two games will play first on Thursday, and we follow vs. Westview. We get a chance to match our big win over them from earlier in the year.
