Give up lead in sixth inning to loss to Angola 9-5

April 23, 2014
By Ron Smith of Fremont High School

We played our fourth conferance game at home tonight against Angola. The start of the game was just what we hoped it would be. The first inning started with our defense getting three outs without Angola scoring a run. Then on the home half of the first inning we came out swinging. We recorded three runs on a couple of doubles and singles. From the first inning on our infield played great defense and our pitching was on mark. We had a couple of errors in the outfield which allowed Angola to get back into the game and take the lead for good. We gave up 9 runs for the game with only 3 of them being earned. This is the best game we have played all year. The score doesn't show it but our hitting, pitching, and infield defense was really good today it was only two mistakes that hurt us tonight. Our Wednesday game has been rescheduled so the softball players can go watch our baseball team play at Parkview field. Our next game is this Thursday at Hamilton. GO EAGLES.
