Lady Eagles Battle Hard but fall in Championship Game

    The Fremont Lady Eagles battled hard on Saturday night but fell to the Niles Vikings in the championship game of the Coldwater Holiday Tournament on 68-51.  The team played scared in the first quarter and trailed by 10 but then battled the Vikings even for the middle two quarters before running out of gas in the 4th.  The team was lead by Shae Rhonehouse with 24 points, 14 rebounds and 3 steals.  Melissa Beer scored a career high 17 points and added 8 rebounds and 2 steals.  Miranda White added 5 rebounds and Mercedes Lyon had 5 assists to hep the eagle cause.  The Eagles are now off until January 10th when the host Churubusco in a girls/guy doubleheader.

    The Junior Varsity Eagles also battled their little hearts out only to fall to Coldwater in the championship game 36-31.  The team came back from a 14 point deficit and cut the lead to 3 points late in the game.  The team had a balanced scoring attack with Lexus Lyon 8, Allison Boone 6, Samantha Carmona 6, Ashley Boone 5, Kelcy Fitzpatrick 4, and Hunter Bennett 2.   The JV is off until January 9th when they travel to Churubusco in a JV girl/guy doubleheader.
