Home » Boys' Basketball NewsSeniors win on Senior Night, beat Central Noble 68-35February 16, 2013 By Andrew Arndt of Fremont High SchoolOn a night where it seemed there were more awards ceremonies and commemorations than made buckets, the Fremont Eagles hosted the upset-minded Central Noble and won by a score of 68 to 35. The tradition of honoring a former coach (Maurice Davis) and community member (TR Hagerty) continued on Friday night in the Eagles' Nest, which made for a long night. Fortunately, the Eagle boys’ basketball team played well to make the main event pretty special. It was a big night for the team’s seven seniors (Tyler Jenkins, Jake Bryant, Austin Corcimiglia, Jordon Schmucker, Seath Wiseman, Josh Midtgard, and Sean Sheckles). The team started slow and only led by 5 at the intermission. However, the team EXPLODED for a 40 to 12 second half to put the Cougars away and give the subs a chance to get in the score book. Ten players scored in all. Sadly, the game was the culmination of playing at home for our seniors. The nucleus of Jenkins, Bryant, Corcimiglia, and Schmucker were a combined 14-6 at home the past two seasons, and 26-14 overall as a team. To say it has been a pleasure to watch these guys play the past few seasons would be an understatement. The community and school couldn’t be prouder of you for your efforts over the past few years. Now go win a SECTIONAL!! The win put the team’s record at 11-7 overall, 6-3 in the NECC. Coming up for the team is state-ranked Westview. Good job guys and good luck!! The junior varsity boys’ basketball team played one of its finest ball games in a long time. The team had as big a lead as 42-9 but wound up winning the game by a score of 51-30. The team had six players score for the team and had a couple of big games from two sophomores. Caleb Presley’s 21 points and 10 rebounds were HUGE! Tyler Meyer chipped in 12 points, as well as 5 steals, and 3 assists. Jeremy Seiler had 8 points, 4 boards, and 2 steals. AP stepped up and had 6 points and 4 assists. Colton Howe had 2 points, 4 boards, and 4 assists. Finally, Hunter Jump scored 2 points for the Eagles. The win put the JV record at 7-11, 3-6 in the NECC. Good job fellas!
