Home » Girls' Basketball NewsLady Eagles Give Great Effort But Come Up Short in Sectional Semi'sFebruary 9, 2013 By Neal Frantz of Fremont High SchoolThe Fremont Lady Eagles battled a tough Westview Lady Warrior team down to the last second only to come up short 39-34 on Friday night in the Semi Final game of the Central Noble Sectional. The team had the first game sectional jitters and came out slow on offense trailing 11-4 after one quarter. Continued good defense brought the Eagles back to within two at halftime and the second half was back and forth with the 5 point margin the largest margin of the second half. Miranda White was awesome on both ends of the court for the Lady Eagles. She tallied 12 points, 10 rebounds and 7 steals in a low possesion game. Fellow post Kelsey Sichling concluded her career with a solid line of 8 points and 6 rebounds. Caitlin Loffer had 6 points and Shae Rhonehouse had 6 rebounds to help the Eagles. The loss ends the Lady Eagle season with a 10-11 record and 5-5 conference mark. Eagle seniors Kelsey Sichling, Caitlin Loffer, Kailyn Sherburne, and Brittany Davis were all key members of this team and will be missed greatly next year. God's best ladies in whatever you do in your futures.
