Home » Girls' Basketball NewsLady Eagles Fall at Home to Prairie HeightsJanuary 19, 2013 By Neal Frantz of Fremont High SchoolThe Fremont Lady Eagles forgot to show up on the offensive end in the first half and it eventually led to their demise in a 38-36 disappointing loss at home to Prairie Heights. The team committed 18 first half turnovers against a packed in zone and shot 28% in falling behind by 8 at halftime. A great third quarter surge gave the team a four point lead going into the 4th quarter but the Panthers hit some big shots down the stretch to secure the win and drop the team to 9-8 on the season. Shae Rhonehouse lead the Eagles with 17 points(9-10 from the line), 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals. Miranda White had 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals. Ali German had 4 rebounds, Kailyn Sherburne added 4 assists, and Caitlin Loffer had 3 steals to help the teams cause. The Junior Varsity Eagles won for the 6th time this year as they pounded the Panthers 28-12. Freshman Melissa Beer continued her strong play with 12 points and 8 rebounds to lead the team. Kaleigh Folland had 8 points and Mercedes Lyon had 5 points, 4 assists and 2 steals. Both teams have a while to wait before their next game. The final home game of the season is Saturday with Fairfield with a 1:00 JV start for Senior Day.
