Eagles Varsity take down Eaton Rapids, JV suffers setback

December 27, 2012
By Andrew Arndt of Fremont High School

The Varsity Eagle basketball team used an exceptional offensive output to take down the Class A Eaton Rapids Greyhounds.  The team's total of 78 was one of its highest point totals of the season, and good enough for a 13 point win.  Leading the team was Tyler "Trifecta" Jenkins who had 40 (that's right 40) points, 11 boards, 4 steals, 3 assists, and 2 blocks.  Jake Bryant added 18 points on great shooting, while also adding 4 boards and 3 assists.  Austin "AC" Corcimiglia had 11 points, 6 assists, and 4 steals.  The win put the team's record at 6-1.  More importantly, the team will now play in the championship game for the third consecutive year and will face Morenci, Michigan.  Good job and good luck fellas.

The junior varsity suffered a setback by a score of 57-46.  The team raced out to a 30-20 lead at the break, but were unable to continue their successful play after the intermission.  Leading the team was Tyler Meyer who had 19 points, AP had 7, Kraig Foley had 5.  The loss put the team's record at 5-2.  The team will look to rebound from their loss by taking on the Morenci JV at 3:15 tomorrow afternoon.  Good luck guys!!
