Early Start Fades in Home Loss for Lady Eagles

December 19, 2012
By Neal Frantz of Fremont High School

The Fremont Lady Eagles got off to a great start in the 1st quarter outscoring the Heritage Lady Patriots 20-6 but gave most of it back in the second quarter before losing at home on Wednesday 56-51, dropping their record to 6-4.  The team played a much improved game but just couldn't pull it out at the end.  The teams undoing was having too many turnovers (23) and shooting 3-14 from the free throw line.  The Ladies were lead by junior Miranda White who dominated the glass with 17 rebounds and added 16 points.  Freshman Shae Rhonehouse had 12 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.  Senior Caitlin Loffer had 11 points and 6 rebounds and senior Jessica Mofield had 7 rebounds off the bench.  Kelsey Sichling added 8 rebounds and Kailyn Sherburne 3 assists.  The team has some time off before they return to action on December 27th at 5 pm in the Coldwater Tourney.

The Fremont Lady Eagle Junior Varsity upped their record to 4-6 with a 30-20 win over the Heritage Lady Patriots.  Feshman Melissa Beer lead the Eagles with 11 points and 6 rebounds.  Sophomore Ryleigh Weidenhamer had a well rounded game with 8 pts, 6 steals and 4 assists.  The Junior Varsity continues to improve each game.  The team also plays in the Coldwater Tourney on December 27th at 5 pm.
