The Fremont wrestling team had a great showing at their last home dual and sent the seniors home with a victory 44-19 over their archrival Angola. Austin Maggart started the night off right and was able to collect a decision at 170, which was followed up by a decision from Brady Elliott’s too. The match slowed down a bit in our upper weights, but Kyle Lowe wrestled a great match and was able to get to momentum back in our direction at 106 lbs. Fremont blew through the lower to middle lineup and was able to collect five consecutive wins. Brock Baker wrestled an outstanding match and showed great poise against a tough competitor, but came up just short with seconds remaining the in the third period. Brad Owen and Ricky short showed dominant performances at their respected weights, both collecting victories for the Fremont grapplers and sealing the win over Angola. I’m very proud of the team and their accomplishments thus far. We are only midway through our season and there will be many more challenges ahead of us. If we can continue to work hard as a team and keep our level of focus, good things will continue to come. Thanks again for the support from our teachers, administration, students, and our local community!
