December 5, 2012
By Neal Frantz of Fremont High School

The Fremont Lady Eagles ventured out of conference play with a intra state game against Reading MI on Wednesday and came away victorious 56-40.  The team got off to a slow start in the 1st quarter but with solid production from the bench they still lead 11-7 after a quarter.  The Eagles lead at half by only five but used a great third quarter run and raised the level of play on the defensive end to up the lead to 16 and cruise to the victory.  The Ladies were lead by an outstanding shooting performance from Senior Caitlin Loffer with a career high 20 points on 9-11 shooting from the field and 2-2 from the line. She also added 4 rebounds.  The rest of the scoring was very balanced as all 8 players who played double figure minutes scored.  White 6 pts and 11 rebounds and 4 blocks, Sichling 7 points and 6 rebounds, Sherburne 6 points and 4 assists, Rhonehouse 4 points, 6 assists, McDaniel 6 points, German 6 points, and Mofield 4 rebounds.  The team continues to get better every time out and gain experience for the tougher games down the road.  The team travels to Hamilton on Saturday to start the first game of a triple header. The Varsity girls play at 5, the JV boys play at 6:30 with the Varsity guys to follow.

The JV Lady Eagles raised their record to 3-4 with a 34 to 25 win over the Reading Rangers on Wednesday.  The team was lead in scoring by Kaleigh Folland with 10, Melissa Beer with 10 and Mercedes Lyon with 8.  The team is off (becasue Hamilton does not have a JV) until Tuesday when they battle Garrett.
