Home » Girls' Basketball NewsLady Eagles Open Conference Season With a WinNovember 16, 2012 By Neal Frantz of Fremont High SchoolThe Fremont Lady Eagles overcame an ugly first half to pull away from the Central Noble Lady Cougars on Friday night 50-27 to stay undefeated on the season at 3-0. The team failed to capitalize on many fast break opportunities in the first half and played poorly in half court offense but still lead 20-13 at the break. The second half the team was more patient in getting the shot they wanted on the offensive end and that resulted in 57% shooting from the field and outscoring the Cougars 30 to 14. A solid team effort was again lead by Miranda White with 15 points 10 rebounds 7 blocked shots and 4 assists. Caitlin Loffer chipped in 12 points and 2 steals, Shae Rhonehouse had 8 points, 11 rebounds, 7 steals and 4 assists and point guard Kailyn Sherburne played her best game of the year with 6 points, 6 assists, and 2 steals. The Fremont Lady Eagle Junior Varsity raised their record to 2-1 with a 27-12 win over Central Noble. The Eagles were lead by Freshman Melissa Beer with 10 points and Junior Mercedes Lyon with 7. Both teams are back in action next Friday night as they travel to West Noble to battle the tough Lady Chargers.
