Lady Eagles Win Opener

    The Fremont Lady Eagles opened their 2012-2013 season with a 63-59 victory over the Lakewood Park Panthers on Saturday night.   The Eagles used a strong second quarter run to go up 8 at the half and then survived the 4th quarter to pull out the win against the feisty Panthers.  The eagles were lead by 1st team all-conference performer Miranda White who had 23 points 16 rebounds and 5 steals.  Freshman Shae Rhonehouse added 13 points 9 rebounds and 5 assists and senior Caitlin Loffer had 12 points and 5 rebounds.  Kailyn Sherburne lead the team with 6 assists and fellow senior Kelsey Sichling added 11 rebounds.  

    The Fremont Junior Lady Eagles came out fighting in the second half after trailing 22-9 and fought back only to come up one point short 30-29. Freshman Ciarra Helmke had 9 points for the eagles and Ryleigh Weidenhamer added 7.  Both teams are back in action on Tuesday at home against Blackhawk Christian.
