Eagles DEFEAT Raiders for 1st win of 2012 Season

True Road Warriors this weekend as the football team traveled nearly 400 miles in less than 24 hours. Friday night the Eagles got through warm ups before Mother Nature let loose and postponed the game until 4 PM on Saturday.

Southern Wells took their opening drive down the field for a score but the Eagles answered with a reverse by Ricky Short to set up a 1 yard plunge by QB Chandler McDowell to tie the game at 7-7. Southern Wells would score again in the 1st quarter to lead 14-7. A solid drive to open the 2nd quarter was capped off with a nice TD run by Nate Beatty, the PAT was good to tie the game up at 14-14. The Eagles went into halftime tied with the Raiders but came out in the 3rd to take the lead 21-14. Nate Beatty scored on a 58 yard sweep for the the tie. The Eagle Defense shut out the Raiders for 3 quarters to seal the victory. Ricky Short rushed for 100 yards and Nate Beatty rushed for 97 yards and 2 scores. Beatty also kicked all of the PAT's. The Eagles travel to Central Noble this Friday to take on the Cougars.
