Home » Boys' Tennis NewsTennis Dominates WestviewSeptember 6, 2012 By Neal Frantz of Fremont High SchoolThe Fremont boys tennis team beat Westview last year for the first time in school history and this year they continued the dominance with a 5-0 whitewashing at their home courts. Tyler Jenkins was in control all the way at #1 singles in winning 6-0, 6-1 as was #1 dubs Tanner Frye/Brandon Miller 6-1, 6-1. #2 singles Glen McClain came back from being down 5-4 in the first and won 9 of the next 10 games to win 7-5,6-1. #2 dubs Keith Bookwalter/Mason Kolberg again trailed 4-1 in the second set but rallied to win 6-4 after winning the first set 6-3. #3 Logan Miller won a tough match 6-3,6-4 to finish off the shutout. The win raises the varsity record to 6-4 and 2-2 in the conference. The JV also won by a score of 5-1. Winners for the Eagles were Mitchel Long, Jeremy Seiler, Brandan Arnos, and Connor Mchann in singles and Drew Sullivan/Kyle Boekout in doubles. The win boosts the JV record to 5-2 and 2-2 in the conference. The JV heads to Angola on Saturday to play in the Angola Invitational while the Varsity and JV are both back in action next Tuesday against Churubusco.
