Home » Girls' Tennis NewsEagle Netters Find Their StrideMay 2, 2012 By Brent Byler of Fremont High SchoolThe Fremont girl's varsity tennis team played a great match overall to defeat conference foe Central Noble, 4 to 1. Winning for the Eagles were Rebecca Noyes (#1S), Lexi Skeens (#2S), Morgan Conti (#3S), and Anna Thompson/Itzel Sanchez (#2 D). Saige Driver and Kasey Renfrew took the only loss, but battle for each point against a #1 doubles team of Paige Lundquist and Rachel VanGessel who is one of the tops in the NECC. A few noteworthy items... #2 Singles - Lexi Skeens served 4 consecutive aces, including 2 2nd serve aces in the final game to win the final set 6-4. #2 Doubles - The tandem of Anna and Itzel picked up their 1st 2 dubs win together. This improves the varsity record to 4-7 overall and 3-2 in the NECC. On the JV side, Ashton Taner, Riley McCrea, Amber Johnson, Leeah Reidenbach, Kaileigh Folland, and Jordan Lovett won matches to lead the Eagles to a 5-1 win. The Fremont JV team is now 5-4 overall and 4-1 in the NECC. CONGRATULATIONS ON THE WINS LADIES!!!! The teams travel to PH tomorrow night for a 2nd dual this season with the Panthers in a non-conference match.
* The Angola match is rescheduled for Wednesday, May 9th and will replace Southside.
