Boys and Girls split with Marines and Busco

Both track teams beat the Hamilton Marines and lost to the host Churubusco Eagles in the final duel meet of the 2012 season. Ricky Short had the highlights of the night for the boys track team as Ricky won the 200m Dash with a time of 23.00 and then in his first ever 300m Hurdle race, Ricky ran one of the fastest times of the year with a 43.00. Ricky was also a member of the 400m Relay and 1600m Relay which beat Hamilton but fell to Busco. Keigan Culler won the 3200m Run over both the Marines and Busco Eagles. The boys next meet is Conference which starts next Tuesday with the Prelims at Churubusco. Finals are at Churubusco on Friday May 11th.

Makenna Behnfeldt had the highlight of the night for the girls track team as she set a personel best in the High Jump with a jump of 5 feet. Makenna is only a freshman and is one of the top High Jumpers in Northeast Indiana. Abby Hostetler won the 3200m Run with a time of 11 minutes 10 seconds. Abby is one of the top runners in the State of Indiana so if you get a chance to watch a track meet make sure you watch her run. Chelsea Sherburne won the 100m Hurdles last night with a time of 15.9 and teammate Tiffany Doty took 2nd. Tiffany won the 300m Hurdles a couple of races later. The girls track team is back in action this Friday as they travel to Westview for their invite.
