Willms and Short's Post Season Ends at Colisieum.

February 12, 2012
By Eric Bryan of Fremont High School

Tylor Willms's post season ended second round, falling to the eventual Semi-State Champ, 4-1. Tylor had a great day and wrestled both matches very well. After confidently winning his first round match by decision Tylor came out for his ticket round match with the same mentality. He wrestled great but a few mistakes in the first period made it tough to get back on top and Tylor eventually lost by decision. This is great experience to have for next year and think with some time spent in the weight room in the off-season the story will be different next season. Also, not to be forgotten, Ricky Short had the opportunity to wrestle at the coliseum too. Friday night I got a phone call saying that a kid had dropped out and that Ricky could be wrestling as the alternate. This was great to hear but I was unsure of how we could get him on the mat since he had a cast on his arm for an injury he sustained during football. Long story short, Ricky took the cast off himself so he would have an opportunity to wrestle, you cant say  there are to many kids out there that would of done the same. Ricky wrestled well considering the circumstances but lost by fall in the second period. Both of these guys had great seasons and I'm excited to see what they will do next year.
