Danes Take Down Pine Creek for Second Win

After a convincing win over Steamboat Springs on Friday night, the Danes unleashed their offensive depth against a young Pine Creek team on Saturday.

The first period ended in a 1-1 tie, although FVS carried the play and outshot Pine Creek 18 to 6. In the second period, the Danes solved the Pine Creek goaltender, scoring eight unanswered goals.

Three more FVS goals were added in the third period for a final score of 12-1. Two Danes, Kyle Eichenberger (Tigard, Ore.) and Kendall McAteer-Sierra (Colorado Springs), finished with hat tricks. More encouraging, though, is the fact that eight different FVS players scored goals tonight. Such a varied offensive threat will be hard for any opponent to defend.

To the credit of the Pine Creek team and coaching staff, their players maintained the highest level of sportsmanship and exerted an honest effort until the final buzzer.
