Danes Fall to Pirates to End Season

April 30, 2012
Fountain Valley School

The Danes lost their last game of the season to the Pirates of St. Mary's. The Danes were plagued again by many offensive turnovers and not enough defensive pressure when St. Mary's had the ball and the lead.

The highlight of the game was when Ryan Dick (CSS) scored his first varsity goal ever! The official brought the game ball to him on the sideline.

The first half was even at 4-4 after the Danes trailed for most of the half. In the third quarter, the Pirates pulled away with two unanswered goals and then tacked on two more early in the fourth. The Danes scored with about two minutes left in the game for the final goal of the game and the season.

Dane goals were scored by Jay Robinson, Ryan Dick and Ian Pelto (2). Mat Larimer made 11 saves in the game.

The Danes should be congratulated on a high-intensity season in which they lost many close games.
