CRESTON - The fifteenth-ranked Iowa Central volleyball team got back in the win column Wednesday as it swept Southwestern 25-14, 25-18, 25-19 in Creston.
Iowa Central (17-8 overall, 2-0 ICCAC) put forth a dominant effort after its nine-match winning streak was snapped earlier this week by No. 5 Iowa Western. Sophomore All-American Alicia Moreno unleashed a spectacular offensive effort in the match with 17 kills and a .708 hitting percentage. Gabi Reyes had 44 assists on the night.
Nadia Morneau had six kills and 17 digs and Meghan Tietze had eight kills and 10 digs.
Iowa Central makes its long-awaited home opener on Tuesday, Oct. 2, when it hosts No. 12 DMACC at 7:00 p.m. at Hodges Fieldhouse.
