COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Iowa Central men’s and women’s soccer programs both jumped into the NJCAA Division I soccer rankings this week as the women came in at No. 11 and the men at No. 20.
Both squads remain undefeated this year and have had some impressive offensive production. The women (5-0 overall, 1-0 ICCAC) are lead offensively by freshman Vanessa Barcelleiro who already has 13 goals and seven assists in five games. The women have scored in double figures in each of the last four games and are outscoring opponents 53-3 on the year.
On the men’s side, Cameron Duckworth has been equally impressive. The sophomore from Waukee had 13 goals and four assists. The men (5-0, 1-0) have outscored their opponents 32-5 in five games this year.
Both squads are in action on Saturday, Sept. 8, as they host Dakota County Tech at Harlan and Hazel Rogers Sports Complex. The men will kick things off at 2:00 p.m. and the women play at 4:00 p.m.
