Freshman vs. Mohtomedi, November 30th, 2012
The freshman girls tipped off the season against Mohtomedi and rode a complete team effort to victory.  Not the prettiest of games, the Rangers took control with their defense and built a double digit lead.  Twelve Rangers scored in this contest and were led by Maggie Nolden who had seven points.  Jenny Birkholz snatched an amazing twelve boards to go along with six points.  Mohtomedi stormed back in the closing minutes - but the cushion was large enough for the Rangers to earn a victory in their opening contest by the final of 34-27.

Freshman vs. North St. Paul, December 6th, 2012
Defense, defense, defense... The calling card of the Freshman team through the first two games.  The Rangers held North St. Paul to six first half points (but only put in thirteen of their own).  The defense stayed crisp in the second half and the Rangers picked up their 2nd victory in as many games with a 33-15 final.  Becky Bloch paced the offense with nine points for the Rangers who passed their first test on the road.

Freshman vs. Cretin Derham Hall, December 7th, 2012
A late start and some blistery conditions didn't seem to hold the Rangers back from their 3rd straight victory to begin the season.  The offense started to click en route to 26 first half points, but the defense took a step back early.  It wasn't till the second half that the Rangers took control and pulled out a 54-36 victory.  Jenny Birkholz led another balanced attack and became the first Ranger to score double figures this season with 14 points.  Gabby Shimota was a staggering +22 when on the court for the Rangers - and Hannah Kiger had some nifty moves in the paint.  The 9th graders take to the road now for a matchup against the Mustangs from Mounds View.
