Three point shots by the home team created a fast lead by the Raiders putting the Rangers in a deep hole early in the game which they would be challenged to overcome. Forest Lake made adjustments throughout the game and at half time to slow the offensive punch of Roseville in attempt to eat into the lead. Short runs using the inside game provided for opportunities to close the gap, but Roseville bounced right back to regain their sizable lead. Foul trouble sent Ranger starters to the bench, but strong reserve play by Angie Frericks and Rachel Bostrom kept the Rangers competitive. In the end, Roseville played an inspired game leading to a win over the Rangers. Next up, a return to the home court Friday for “pink night” against Cretin. The Forest Lake JV squad played a tough Roseville team last night. The Rangers were down throughout the entire first half due to tenacious Raider’s defense. Roseville was ahead 19-16 going into halftime. The Rangers picked up their defense in the second half and held Roseville to only 6 points. Forest Lake triumphed over the Raiders 39-25. A big offensive effort by Andie Wohlk contributed that victory with Wohlk putting in 13 points for the Rangers. The Forest Lake sophomore team revenged an early season loss to Roseville with a win Tuesday night 20-8. Yes, that is correct, the Rangers held Roseville to only 8 points on Tuesday with a focused defense against the Raider’s top scorer. Led by freshman, Dana Larson, the Ranger defense using a combination of zone and man defenses holding Roseville to one shot on each possession or forcing them to turn over the ball.
