Texas high school offense rewrites the record books.

This past Friday night, Fort Worth Southwest and Forth Worth Arlington Heights met to battle for the top spot in their Texas 4A District.  What fans witnessed was an impressive offensive showing by Southwest that rewrote the record books.

Southwest receiver Robbie Rhodes had a night he will never forget, catching an impressive 8 touchdown passes, each of those coming from at least 20 yards out.  Rhodes pulled in a total of 10 receptions for 394 yards, which stands as a Texas single game record, and ranks 11th nationally.  The 8 touchdowns tie a national record set in 1998.

Distributing the ball to Rhodes was quarterback, Wesley Harris, who finished 20-30 for 564 yards and threw one more incompletion (10), than total touchdowns (9).  Harris now holds the Texas high school single game touchdown record, and was one touchdown shy of joining five others who hold the national record with 10 in a single game.

Fort Worth Southwest went on to win the game 66-21 and secured a top spot in District 6-4A.  Great job by the staff putting on an offensive show that kept the fans on the edge of their seat the entire game.
