Bulldogs Fall In Physical Match Up
February 12, 2014By Scott Wallace of Fisk University
Bulldog guard Chris Pollard scored his career high versus Talledega
Cameron Lewis surpassed his career high for the third time in three weeks with a GCAC high 40 points. Two Bulldogs had great games off of the bench. Richmond Jackson record his third double-double in a row with a 19 point and 10 rebound effort before fouling out. Chris Pollard also scored his career high with 18 points.
“That’s just Cam being Cam," said Head Bulldog Coach Jay Smith."(Brandon) Peters and he went at it tonight. Rich and CP played lights out. The difference was Peters got a lot of help and Cam didn’t. We are extremely young. With youth you sometimes lack consistency. Our hope is games like this will help us in the tournament.”
Peters' 33 points led Talladega. Charles Winborne scored 24 Harif Nixon-Hughes added 14 and Roman Vaughn had 12 but it was Peters that impressed the Bulldogs.
“It was like he could score whenever he wanted to,” said Lewis. “We knew going in that he was explosive. Seeing it close up was crazy. We tried multiple guys on him. He is a good player.”
NOTE: Janine Davis scored her carer high 28 in the Women's Game.
