Fisk Freshman's Hot Bat Leads Conference In Hitting

April 15, 2013
By Russell Acklin of Fisk University

Nashville, Tenn. --- If you see a bat on fire around Fisk's campus don't worry about calling the fire department. Fisk University Lady Bulldog Amber Victory is in possesion of it. Victory is leading the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference in batting average hitting at a .516 clip. The average also has her placed seventh amongst all hitters competing in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Victory is a freshman from Antioch, Tennessee. She is very aggressive at the plate and loves that she plays locally so her family can see her often.

"I love taking all my anger out on the ball. I love playing for Fisk. It allows my grandmother to watch me play at the collegiate level," she said.

Victory and her Lady Bulldog teammates will be back in action on April 16 with a home conference doubleheader versus Edward Waters (FL.) College. The first game will start at 2:00 p.m. with the second game to follow immediately at Hadley Park.
