Soccer Update

September 3, 2014
By Colin McDavid of Hoke County High School

The boys soccer team lost all three games this past week.  We lost to both Pine Forest and Cape Fear by scores of 0-2 and lost to South View 2-4.  Raul Mendez was the only Buck to score.  Raul has been a great leader for us in the defense and the offense.

We played well in the first half of all three games, but seemed to fatigue in the second half which is a clear indication of our lack of fitness.

Despite the losses we have had some great individual efforts from Luis Lopez, Kaylon Diaz, Alex Patricio, and Noah Edgerly.  Carlos Lopez has also been outstanding in goal, and should keep his head up.

We hope to use the 3 games this week to finalize our line up and to get that much needed match fitness.
