Girls' soccer results

March 23, 2014
By Colin McDavid of Hoke County High School

The girls started the week with a 10-0 win versus Douglas Byrd.  Scoring lots of goals is always nice, but more importantly the girls are building great team chemistry with everyone beginning to understand their role.

Ashelyn Priest score 3 goals and 1 assist, Kaylee Myers scored 1 goal, Alayna Lewis 4 goals and 1 assist, Lucy Walrath 1 goal and 2 assists, Kyle Bullock had 1 goal and 1 assist. Abigail Reyna,  Hailey Johnson, and Brittany McAllister all shared time in goal to post the shut-out.

Friday night the girls beat Richmond 6-3.  It was a fantastic performance by the girls especially after going down by 1 goal early in the game.  The girls never put their heads down and came back fighting lead by Alayna Lewis.  Alayna opened the scoring for the Lady Bucks and ended the game with 3 goals.  Kyle Bullock who was outstanding in defense scored a beautiful free kick and had 1 assist.  Alexis Osorio scored a nice goal where she dribbled by her opponents and hit a nice shot past the goalkeeper.  Latania Coleman scored a nice break away goal where she chipped the ball over the goalkeepers head in to the goal.  Lucy Walrath had to assists and was excellent in midfield for us.  Frehman goalie Abigail Reyna played very well and had to make several brave saves to deny Richmond.

Keep up the good work ladies.
