Home » Football NewsBucks Stomp PatsOctober 27, 2012 Hoke County High SchoolHoke County defeated Pinecrest 35-7 tonight in a battle for third place in the Southeastern Conference final standings. The visiting Bucks defense stiffled the Patriots option offense all night making several tackles behind the line of scrimmage. Hoke took a 20-0 halftime lead, and then extended their lead to 35-0 before the Patriots finally put a touchdown up on the board. Newsome ran for 162 yards in the game. Hoke, 9-2 overall, improved to 3-2 in the conference, securing third place. The Patriots, 5-6 overall, fell to 2-3 in the conference, good for fourth. Both teams had lost to Richmond Senior and Scotland High in league play entering the game.
