Derek Butler Announced as New Hoke Varsity Girl's Basketball Coach

Derek Butler, the varsity Boy's and Girl's Soccer coach has been announced as the new Varsity Girl's Basketball coach.  

Certification:  NFHS Accredited Interscholastic Coach with specialization in basketball and soccer.

• NC Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year in 2004-05, 2007-08, 2009-2010.
• North Carolina Region IV Regional Coach of the Year in 2009-10.
• After taking over two programs that had never reached the NC state playoffs, both teams qualified for the state playoffs after being hired.  The boys have not missed the state tournament since.
• Won the first playoff games in school history for both the boys’ and girls’ programs.
• Organized a rigorous off-season training regimen to improve fitness and soccer technique.
• Helped student-athletes receive athletic scholarships and helped them get recruited at every college level.
